Here's a place where you can talk about things that bug you.
What really bugs me is how the English language seems to be going downhill. For instance, since when did the word pix start to mean one picture? I thought the x sounded like an s, which implies more than one.
Grrrr! It really grates on my nerves to see this used incorrectly.

That kind of annoys me too. What really bothers me is the misuse of apostrophes and other punctuation. I have seen so many signs with apostrophes where there shouldn't be one. (Like liquor's instead of liquors. There is a liquor store several blocks from my apartment that I pass every day on the way to the bus stop. Their sign was like that for the longest time and it always grated on me every time I saw it.)

Guilty, and I consider myself a grammar nazi.

I had a feeling you'd think I was talking about your, Edith, since you had used that word in the PM to me. Heh. But trust me, you aren't the only one. Save the Humans and Jbdean use it on the Fuse. It just makes me cringe.
Has anyone read "Eat, Shoots and Leaves"? My boss lent it to me and I've just started to read it.

Actually, I didn't think that you were talking about me. I was just stating a fact... I am guilty.

Okay... I have a complaint. People who can read, but don't want to, shouldn't make people - people like me - feel guilty that we do read, and we are very literate and well read. Just... gah... head explodes.
I'm sorry. You feel bad because you don't read, and I do, and when I point out I'm actually not snobbish in the sense that I don't have any magical powers, I just read, you're response is, "Well, I'm not interested in reading."
I swear to god, that makes my dark passenger want to come out and play. (For anyone who is interested, Darkly Dreaming Dexter/Dearly Devoted Dexter reference. Both by Jeff Lindsay)

People make you feel quilty because you like to read? How exactly do they do that? There are a lot of people who really don't like to read, which is too bad for them.

First of all - yay, I can finally see my banner. Oh, they make it out like I'm a snob cause I read. and when I'm like... um, not a magical power, I just *read* so I'm literate, they're like, whines, but I don't wanna take the time to read.
*Blinks* So, yeah, that makes you illiterate. (And yes, you who I'm speaking of, I can tell. Because you can't spell/use grammar. And that whole, 'the only thing I have above you is history' is childish BS. Seriously. Being literate became a competition when? Especially since I've shared information, but haven't become pompously full of myself... yet...)

That's really sad. Reading is very important.
